Jakarta – Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term, has expressed his focus on preparing for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential inauguration on October 20, 2024.
His preparations involve studying the nation’s issues and engaging in discussions with all stakeholders to create strategic plans for the development of Indonesia.
This approach is aimed at ensuring a smooth transition and immediate action post-inauguration, without any time wasted.
Speaking at the halal bihalal event of the Executive Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in Jakarta, Prabowo stated, “We study the problems, gather experts, and engage with all elements so that there is no vacuum or wasted time after the mandate transfer on October 20.”
Prabowo also highlighted the support and assistance provided by President Joko Widodo during the preparation phase, stating that their relationship has become closer. Jokowi, who used to address Prabowo as ‘Menhan’ (Minister of Defense), now refers to him more informally as ‘Mas Bowo’.
Expressing gratitude for Jokowi’s meticulous care and guidance, Prabowo mentioned how the current President instructed him to make official visits to China and Japan in early April 2024, with plans for further visits to the Middle East as directed.
