Farmers: President Prabowo’s Heartfelt Support

Farmers are considered a top priority for President Prabowo Subianto, as stated by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). This strong connection stems from key moments in Prabowo’s life, particularly during his military service where he received support from local communities and farmers. Additionally, his leadership role in the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI) further solidified his commitment to the farming sector.

The recent grand corn harvest in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province led by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka underscores the importance of the food security program. This initiative is crucial, especially in the current global scenario where Indonesia needs to reduce its dependence on foreign food sources to mitigate potential price fluctuations caused by disruptions in major exporting countries like India, Brazil, and China.

During the event, it was highlighted that the corn harvest yielded around 10 tons from 1.5 hectares, showcasing the positive impact of government support through subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery. The aim is to encourage farmers by increasing both the cultivated area and yields. This was emphasized by Uki, urging local authorities to facilitate the administrative process for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers effectively.

Furthermore, Kelik Budianan, the Head of the Food Data and Information Center at the National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas), expressed support for President Prabowo’s program. By collaborating with the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to absorb farmers’ corn harvests, they aim to streamline the supply chain process and ensure favorable prices for both crops and livestock. This integrated approach was commended by various officials and stakeholders present at the event.

In conclusion, the government’s commitment to enhancing food security and empowering farmers is evident through ongoing initiatives and partnerships. By prioritizing agricultural development and supporting local farmers, President Prabowo aims to secure Indonesia’s food supply and promote economic stability in the face of global challenges.
