Prabowo: 2026 Education Budget Reaches Rp 757.8 Trillion

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the government’s dedication to education during his State Budget 2026 Financial Note presentation at the House of Representatives’ plenary session. The state budget for 2026, the largest in history at Rp 757.8 trillion, will be allocated to education. Prabowo highlighted the importance of providing high-quality education to produce globally competitive human resources and eradicate poverty. He emphasized the need for effective use of education funds, particularly in enhancing teacher welfare, vocational training, and aligning curricula with industry demands. The budget breakdown includes funding for various educational programs and scholarships, as well as investments in school and campus facilities. Prabowo also committed to strengthening People’s Schools and Garuda Excellence Schools to improve access to quality education for disadvantaged children. The government aims to provide scholarships to 4,000 students through the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education in 2026. Prabowo concluded by emphasizing the importance of advancing Indonesia’s capabilities in STEM fields.
