Jakarta – Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto gave guidance to cadet officers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) at Balai Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Friday (12/7).
In front of 906 cadets, including 417 from the Army, 129 from the Navy, 113 from the Air Force, and 247 from the Police, Prabowo emphasized that serving as a TNI or Polri officer is a noble profession.
“I want to remind you that the profession you have chosen requires great sacrifices and the utmost willingness that involves both your spirit and your physical strength,” Prabowo said.
He urged all the cadets who will soon be commissioned to always defend Indonesia.
“The destiny of the nation and its people depends on you. You have been chosen, trained, and prepared so that when the time comes, you can protect your homeland,” Prabowo advised.
The prospective President for 2024-2029 also reminded the cadets about the national goals outlined in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution.
“Our national goal, as stated in the preamble of the Constitution, is clear and simple: to protect the entire Indonesian nation,” Prabowo emphasized.
“Firstly, protect, then improve welfare, educate, and facilitate education. What is the use of developing skyscrapers, airports, railways, and dams if our country is not secure, safe, and protected?” he added.
