Doha, Qatar — Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect for the period 2024-2029, highlighted the significance of establishing a solid groundwork for national advancement at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, Qatar from May 14 to 16, 2024.
During his discussion with Haslinda Amin, the Southeast Asia International Correspondent for Bloomberg, Prabowo reiterated the ongoing nature of nation-building. He also praised President Joko Widodo of Indonesia for laying a strong foundation for future progress.
Prabowo stressed the importance of focusing on food security as a primary agenda, along with self-reliance and security in food and energy. He expressed his determination to eradicate poverty through substantial efforts and initiatives.
Additionally, Prabowo addressed the issue of nutrition for Indonesian children by proposing a free lunch program to combat hunger. He assured that careful fiscal management would be maintained, and under his leadership, efficiency and good governance would be prioritized.
Prabowo also committed to continuing the policy of industrial downstreaming to enhance value-added production and reduce dependency on imported industrial goods.
Overall, Prabowo emphasized that his action plan aims to achieve sustainable prosperity for Indonesia and underscored the significance of collaborating with international partners for mutual development. He was accompanied by Vice President-elect for 2024-2029, Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the event.
