Jakarta – Minister of Defense Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received an honorary visit from the Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, at the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Thursday (30/5).
Prabowo warmly welcomed Tony, who then signed the guestbook and had a luncheon together. During their meeting, they discussed the continuation of talks from Prabowo’s previous visit to London in March with the UK Defense Minister regarding the enhancement of bilateral defense cooperation between their countries.
Prabowo also highlighted the opportunity to collaborate with all countries, including the UK, to develop an advanced, modern, and independent defense industry. He stated, “I see the UK as a close relative and an important partner for Indonesia, especially in defense.”
Additionally, Prabowo and Tony talked about areas of cooperation that are key and beneficial for Indonesia, as well as potential future joint projects. At the end of the meeting, Prabowo presented gifts such as a traditional keris and a pin from the Ministry of Defense, while Tony also gave a personal gift to Prabowo.
Officials from the Ministry of Defense were also present at the meeting, including the Acting Secretary-General, the Acting Director General of Strategic Defense, the Head of Defense Facility Agency, and the Acting Head of Defense Infrastructure Agency.
