Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect for the 2024-2029 term and Minister of Defense of Indonesia, had a packed schedule from Friday (31/5) to Monday, with a series of activities.
Starting from Friday to Saturday, Prabowo traveled to Singapore to participate in the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue, an international forum attended by leaders and defense ministers from various countries. Upon his arrival on Friday afternoon, he attended the Gala Dinner at the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue, where he had meetings with high-ranking officials such as US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Timor Leste President Ramos Horta.
On Saturday morning, Prabowo visited the Istana in Singapore for a meeting with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong before heading to the Shangri-La Hotel to take part in the IISS Shangri-la Dialogue. He also had a bilateral meeting with Lloyd Austin and later delivered a speech at the forum, highlighting Indonesia’s assistance efforts in Gaza and readiness to send peacekeeping troops if requested by the UN.
After his address, Prabowo engaged in separate bilateral meetings with representatives from the Netherlands, Sweden, and Ukraine. On Sunday, he returned to Indonesia and visited Yogyakarta, where he provided guidance at the Military Academy and toured SMA Taruna Nusantara alongside visiting General Subagyo Hadi Siswoyo.
On Monday, Prabowo inspected the installation of clean water pipes in Kalurahan Banyusoco, Playen, Gunungkidul, to assist local communities facing a water crisis, allowing them to harvest three times a year as opposed to once before. He then rushed back to Jakarta to resume work at the Ministry of Defense and meet with various guests, including the Ambassador of New Zealand, Kevin Burnett.
