Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for the period 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, held a meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan in Amman, Jordan, on Monday (10/6) shortly after his arrival in the country.
The meeting was part of Prabowo’s activities representing President Joko Widodo at the high-level conference “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza,” scheduled for June 11, 2024.
“Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, H.E. Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein. Thank you and I appreciate this opportunity. It is a pleasure to meet you, Your Majesty,” greeted Prabowo.
During the meeting, Prabowo conveyed warm greetings from President Jokowi.
King Abdullah II congratulated Prabowo on his election as President in the 2024 presidential election.
He also expressed gratitude and respect for Prabowo’s presence in Jordan representing Jokowi at the high-level conference on Gaza.
Prabowo mentioned that Jordan has been a vital partner for Indonesia in advocating for the Palestinian people.
“The Indonesian government is closely monitoring the worsening situation in Gaza,” stated Prabowo.
“The number of casualties and injuries is increasing. Indonesia is deeply concerned about the dire conditions of the people in Gaza,” he added.
