Ankara – The bond between Indonesia’s Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was clearly on display following their private meeting in Ankara, Turkey, on Tuesday, July 30.
As Prabowo prepared to depart from the Palace and say goodbye to Erdoğan, the Turkish President personally accompanied him to the waiting car outside, indicating for him to proceed with a gesture of his hand.
“This is a privilege for me,” Prabowo remarked before getting into the car and exchanging handshakes with Erdoğan.
Earlier in the meeting with Erdoğan, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to bolstering its strategic relationship and collaboration with Turkey, especially in the fields of defense and defense industry.
“We are steadfast in our efforts to strengthen the long-standing friendship between our two nations,” Prabowo stated.
Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized the importance of Turkey as a key partner for Indonesia. Therefore, it is imperative for both countries to cultivate trust and continuously work towards enhancing the capabilities of their armed forces.
While in Turkey, Prabowo also held meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and various leaders from Turkey’s defense industry.
