Jakarta — Prabowo Subianto, the Defense Minister and president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected members of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the Nusantara Building, DPR/MPR complex, on Tuesday (October 1).
Prabowo and Jokowi arrived together in the presidential car, with the license plate RI 1. Jokowi got out from the left side of the vehicle, while Prabowo exited from the right.
Prior to the DPR event, both leaders joined the Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony at the Pancasila Monument in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.
Wearing coordinated formal attire, Jokowi sported a navy blue suit with a red tie, while Prabowo opted for a black suit paired with a gray tie featuring white stripes. They both wore black peci caps and a red-and-white flag pin on their left chest.
Upon arrival, Jokowi and Prabowo were greeted by DPR Secretary-General Indra Iskandar, engaging in handshakes, smiles, and pleasantries.
Subsequently, the two leaders proceeded to the Nusantara Building’s hallway to have a group photo taken with General Election Commission (KPU) Chair Afifuddin, as well as various newly elected DPR, Regional Representative Council (DPD), and People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) members, eventually moving into the Kura-Kura Building together.
