Indonesia Aids Gaza on 80th Independence Day

The Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force successfully carried out a humanitarian aid mission to Gaza Strip, Palestine on Sunday, August 17, 2025. This mission was a joint effort involving the Ministry of Defense, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the National Alms Agency (Baznas). Two Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft departed from King Abdullah II Air Base in Amman, Jordan at 10:37 a.m. local time. They executed an airdrop of aid supplies over Gaza and landed safely back at the forward operating base by 12:25 p.m. local time.

Colonel Pilot Puguh Yulianto, Commander of the Garuda Merah Putih-II Task Force, reported that the mission went smoothly without major obstacles. The aid packages delivered included crucial supplies such as staple foods, ready-to-eat meals, medical equipment, blankets, and items specifically for children. President Prabowo Subianto personally authorized the mission, underscoring Indonesia’s dedication to international humanitarian solidarity.

The success of this mission on Indonesia’s independence anniversary was hailed as a moment of national pride, showcasing the country’s active role on the global stage and contributions to global peace. Colonel Puguh Yulianto described this accomplishment as a historic milestone and a special gift in honor of Indonesia’s Independence Day.
