Jakarta — Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s President-elect, has raised concerns about the fragile state of global affairs, pointing to the actions of certain world leaders as a contributing factor to the growing tensions.
Speaking at the opening of the Forum Sinergitas Legislator PKB in Jakarta on Thursday (October 10), Prabowo stated, “The world is in a very fragile state, with world leaders who, in my opinion, are displaying attitudes that are not wise.”
He criticized nations that prioritize imposing their will on others, emphasizing that global harmony requires tolerance and mutual respect.
Prabowo also highlighted the conflict between Israel and Iran, expressing concern about the loss of innocent lives in the ongoing tensions between the two countries.
Despite the global instability, Prabowo noted that Indonesia remains peaceful, attributing this to the open dialogue among different elements in the country, including political parties. He praised the willingness of parties like PKB to collaborate for the nation’s development, despite supporting different candidates in the previous election.
He expressed confidence in PKB’s support in building the nation, emphasizing the importance of respecting differences and working together towards a common goal. (RR)
